Okay,
I'm finishing a movie intro using Final Cut Express HD and I have a nice guitar sample lifted from GarageBand. I need the last few seconds of the track to fade to silence and I can't figure out how to do it.
I assume GarageBand can do this, but I don't know how. And the audio mixing functions in FCE are VERY limited.
Help!

I used FlexiMusic Wave Editor (http://www.fleximusic.com/waveditor/overview.htm) for the audio fade out funcion in my windows pc and i am using fision (http://rogueamoeba.com/fission/) for my mac pc.

you'll want to draw an automation curve on the volume. i don't know the GB specifics, but that's what you'll want to do.

Don't know if you are still having this problem, but I'm sure you can do it within Final Cut. iMovie even lets you do this! Search the help for volume envelope.

Use keyframes on the clip overlay in the time line.

If the other options above give you trouble, and you are able to export the audio file, Audacity can do it quite easily; load up your file, select the portion of the track you'd like to fade out, and select Effect > Fade Out.
