Since I got my iPhone, I've rarely used this iPod. And now that the iPhone can do video out, I don't see using it anymore at all. So, I'm selling this video iPod and plan to buy Apple’s new video out cable/dock as a “replacement.”
The video iPod is in excellent condition - I've had a clear Brando protector on the front AND back since day 1 - I just removed them yesterday to take these pictures (and am not using the iPod in the meantime). There are only minor scuff marks on the click wheel and other minor marks on the chrome parts. I have the original box and the following contents:
- USB sync cable (new and unused)
- headphones (used)
- Universal dock adapter (used)
- Software CD (unused)
- 2 white Apple stickers (unused)
- 2 pairs of foam covers for the headphones (unused)
- white slip case (used for only a few days but showing some wear)
This iPod has never been dropped or abused and I’ve had no issues with battery life. I purchased it new directly from the Apple online store in December 2005 - it is no longer eligible for the Applecare warranty. The iPod is running firmware 1.2.1. It will be reformatted and shipped with no music on it.
I’m also including 2 items *at my asking price*:
- a RhinoSkin hard case (retail of $34.95) - I used this case periodically with my iPod when out and about. It shows some scuffs and minor wear, but is in good condition overall. It has a detachable belt clip and a lanyard (unused). The front is clear acrylic and the rear is aluminum - it’s quite sturdy. It looks very similar to their current cases for the iPod classic.
- Apple’s AV cable - this is the cable that plugs into the headphone jack and outputs video through RCA connections. This cable worked perfectly with my iPod. It retails for $19. Asking $165 shipped insured via Priority Mail for everything (in the U.S.) via PayPal (to *confirmed* addresses only). If you're outside of the U.S., PM me with your postal code for a quote on how much additional shipping would be to you. Note that refurb 30GB iPods with Video are $179 through Apple - double the space plus accessories for less money if you buy mine instead! :)
Preference goes to those who want the RhinoSkin case and AV cable with the iPod. If you only want the iPod (and its original box and contents), my asking price is $150 shipped. I’d sell the RhinoSkin case and the AV cable separately for $10 each shipped, or $15 together shipped.
I’d only consider one trade that’s quite a long shot: a new iPod Nano.
- A 3rd generation (the fatty) iPod Nano, 8GB only
- Black or silver color (sorry - I really can't do that blue or green)
- I'd like to get the original packaging it came in too
- Excellent/like new condition
- I would do an even trade (no cash from either party), including the RhinoSkin case and AV cable
