Is it possible to jailbreak a UK iphone and use it on 02 Ireland? Im going to the UK on Tuesday and im going to pick one up if this is possible.

02 ireland is different to o2 uk, it needs unlocking...

This will not work - the way sim locking works it is tied to a specific network id. The network id for o2 ireland and o2 uk are different. The phone will get the network id from the SIM and if it is not the same as o2 uk it will not work.

Checked network id codes:
27202 = O2 Comms - Ireland
23410 = O2 - United Kingdom

As you can see they're different :(
