Is it possible to make the dock act like the windows bar, like when clicking an icon of an app which is open, to have it minimize it ? Likz when you click a 'window' in the start bar of windows?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I am a recent "switcher" myself. But I believe part of the reason behind Spaces is to let you keep applications open and just switch your screens between apps.
However, if there is a way to do that, I'd also be interested as sometimes I have more than one internet window open....
