so i'm getting my g/f an ipod nano for xmas, and i want to engrave something on the back that she'll really like. i know it really has to come from me, but if anyone would like to help me out, that'd be great.
i sure hope she doesn't find macrumors anytime soon

'songs for an angel'
*vom*
but seriously. we don't know the kind of person you are; hopeless romantic? tough-guy?
don't engrave anything like '[your name + her name 4eva]' though.

ok, we are both runners, and i'd for it be somewhat motivating. not really sure what i mean though. something that could be motivating for our relationship and for anything in life, like running.
hope that makes sense

I'd suggest 'always go the distance'.
But it sounds like a semi-marriage-proposal...hah.

thanks, i'm trying. no luck so far.
what about this: "Anything worth while will not come easy."
i kinda like it, but i'd have to have something else to go with it on the second line

well here are the lyrics to "our" song:
"Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
Oh, thinking about all our younger years,
There was only you and me,
We were young and wild and free.
Now nothing can take you away from me.
We’ve been down that road before,
But that's over now.
You keep me coming back for more.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
Now, nothing could change what you mean to me.
There's a lot that I could say
But just hold me now,
Cause our love will light the way.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
Now our dreams are coming true.
Through the good times and the bad
I'll be standing there by you.
(We’re in heaven.)
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven. "
see anything in there?

That's good for running! And everything else, actually. You've got me thinking about stuff now, damn you!
I don't know what could go on the second line.
[edit] Anything from that song would work nicely.
'Through the good times and the bad
I'll be standing there by you'

good luck man. I'm sure you'll come up with something.
thanks, i sure hope so.
and to the ones who don't like engraving or whatever. i'm not big on it either, but i know that she'll love it (if i come up with something good)

kinda catchy i guess. a witty one would work also. not sure about this one though.

i would definitely go for something more running related rather than relationship related. if you break up, she's not going to want to use it with some quote about unending love on the back.

sorry i didn't mean to insinuate that a break up WOULD happen, just that there is aways a possibility.
i liked luis' suggestion.

That was a DDR song :D
I know a girl that got her name and phone # engraved.
While that wouldn't be 'romantic', it could sure be useful.
I wish I had gotten my number engraved :/
You could always do that, or just write
"To my baby, from (your name here)"
Or, like I said, keep the engraving simple, then write her a super mushy card :)

That's good, but you need to alter it so it's about running:
'Through the good times and the bad
I'll be running away from you'
Oh wait... ;)
