I have no sound coming out of any internal or external speakers. The problem seems to be random since last night the volume was working fine. I simply put my computer to sleep and discovered today no sound.

Opening the Sound menu under System Preferences lists no speakers or devices under the Output or Input options (so no mic either).* Since installing Leopard (and 10.5.1) about two weeks ago, I've never had any trouble with the sound until today. There are no funny red lights coming out of the headphone jack. The mute is not on and controlling the volume from the menu bar is grayed out. Plugging in speakers or headphones doesn't work either. Please help! 🙁 Thanks...

*FYI: The only exception to this is Soundflower. I suspect this is not the problem as its been installed for many many months with no problems.
