So... don't worry I have searched for this topic and nothing has helped. So my drive got erased, the shop restored my data via disk recovery. And now I have 30 odd DS_Store files scattered on my disk. I have tried enabling and disabling hidden files via Tinker Tool and Terminal and the funny thing is that another DS_Store showed up leading me to believe that the DS_Store's that constantly show on the disk are not doing anything because the "real" ones ARE hidden. Do you think it is safe to delete them?

.DS_Store files are just metadata stores for Finder and are easily regenerated. You can safely delete the unneeded ones.
