Apple will be offering a one day sale in their international online stores similar to the U.S. Black Friday sale (http://www.macrumors.com/2007/11/21/apple-and-others-black-friday-2007-sales-prices-and-links/) last week.

http://images.macrumors.com/article/2007/11/29/banner_blackfriday_20071130.gif

The sale has already launched in Australia (http://store.apple.com/133-622/WebObjects/australiastore) and is being promoted in their many international Apple Stores.

Discounts appear to be comparable to the U.S. Black Friday sale.

And to think, people whine that Apple didn't given them a good enough deal the other day, yet here they are, offering another sale. Apple doesn't owe us anything, but they sure know how to keep the customers happy. Thumbs up! Let's just hope no one whines about the prices they do set.

Does anyone have the details of the US discounts?

Were the discounts on all hardware and software?

I want my girlfriend to get an macbook NOW!

ps I asked her if she would like me to get her the colour black for xmas! She politely declined. Our relationship has been a little strained since that conversation.

can you get the sale price plus student discount?

Probably not. Can't tell as I've yet to go to one of these sales, but usually normal discounts don't apply on top of sales discounts.

But wouldn't hurt to try eh?

I don't call this sales "sales".
The price reductions are ridiculous.
It's basically %5 off. And I don't think this generated extra sales for Apple. Do you guys think some people are dumb enough to say "of, there's a $51 rebate on the MacBook, I can't miss this opportunity!"
Apple could have done better.
But I still think they are the best regardless.

They're offering you $50 savings on a MacBook that you can't get at any other time. $50! That's a lot of money to some people.

5% off Apple products brought in loads of people over Black Friday/Saturday/Sunday. It accounted for somewhere around a third of my store's revenue that weekend and that's competing with video games/systems, cheap pc laptops, home entertainment and a whole ton of various computer parts and networking equipment.

If you dock it, they will come.

If you're spending 700 on a laptop then 20 probably isn't much to "some people". That would barely cover travel and dinner whilst going to an Apple Store!

No. The sale indeed cuts prices, but not nearly as much as the current student pricing. Sorry.

Is the rest of the world commercializing Christmas as much as we have here in America?

Here, the idea is that if you don't spend yourself into bankruptcy this month, then you are personally responsible for the collapse of the world's largest economy.

It's everything you see on the flier and nothing more. Basically it's the "consumer" macs, Airport, iPods, and Apple "consumer" software. No discounts on "pro Macs or s/w.

likely to stay the same until DEC 25.

This COULD be the reason for the sale.

Or... buy from Amazon instead. They sell the iPod touch cheaper than it probably would be even if it was in this sale. You save 26 on the 16GB version.

what a waste of time. anyone that gets excited about 7 off an airport really has bigger things in life to worry about. no mac mini included either.

Nov 30, 2007, 03:14 AM
First the positive:

Just ordered in Sweden:
a mid-MacBook, about 7 % discount.
The wireless mouse with more than 12 % off
wireless alu-keyboard, no discount :-(
Iomega 250 GB eGo USB/Firewire, no discount :-(

This was perfect for me because I need it for my 1-month trip in january to Thailand.

Here comes the whining:

Too bad there isn't any discount on the MacMini.
And the cheapest iMac, a total of 3.4% off, WOW:eek: Apple, don't spoil us.

Another "special financing" Apple has in Sweden now is an offer to pay your order for 24 months. "Only" 5,95% interest, starting fee 395 swedish kronor and 35 kronor in "notifying fee" every month.
1. normal starting fee in Sweden is 295 (if not free), not 395.
2. normal "notifying fee" is 25 (free if using automatic bank transfer), not 35.
3. If I select their ordinary financing I save about 50 U$ for a MacBook compared to this "offer".

Now I have to buy 2x2GB Crucial RAM and a 250GB WD HD to spice up the MacBook. :p

Selected games are down from 39.95 to 34.00. I seem to remember these same games were $34.00 in the US sale. Okay Steve, it may be "more expensive to do business over here" but come on, that's still double the price (and still more expensive than other retailers).

I think the sale is okay as it's money off that you wouldn't normally get, but students should steer clear and simply use educational pricing as it's cheaper than these sale prices.

3.9% off an iMac is a little lower than I would've expected.

Well, I ended up getting a green iPod Nano, with engraving, and gift box as a Xmas present from myself and my fiancee to her sister.

Not a huge saving, but was gonna buy one anyway, so may as well have been today - to all those moaning about it not being enough of a discount - relax will ya! They could have decided not to give us any kind of savings at all!

Just looked around the UK store and the only thing i was tempted to buy was the V-Moda headphones but do i really need them? and i hear the Apple shipping iPhone headsets are superior to it in overall useability (Mic/Headphone).

Everything else i can get for cheaper with my HE discount. Anyone buy the V-Moda Headset in the UK.....how was it?

Now the online store is down again. Ended up going to the retail store in the end. Got my family pack for iWork for a few pounds more that the single pack normally retails for. I was tempted to get VMware fusion, but it wasn't on offer at the cheaper price instore. That said i'm still undecided on Parallels or Vmware
