Any chance there will be an iMac upgrade announced at Macworld? I assume the Pro will see this chip first - just wondering if there are any rumors. I am looking at getting the 20 in. 2.4GHz before Christmas, but there could very likely be a speed bump at MW. Maybe even a jump to the 2.8GHZ in the 20in. I'm thinkin' - why not just wait 2 extra weeks. What do y'all think?

It's possible but I'd expect to see it later when the mobile quad cores show up.

I don't think we'll see quad-cores in the imac yet, but even still, I'd tend to agree that we won't see new imacs until past macworld. They were updated in early August, so that's long enough for an update, but probably short enough that they'll wait a while.

I think only the desktop chips use penryn for now, and the imacs use mobile parts. I seem to recall that the mobile chips would get penryn (and quad core with it) next summer. Might be wrong though.
