iPod touch Do apps take up memory?

Does anyone know how to check how much app space you have left? I remember Installer used to tell you... it was about 50 mb total. Is there still a way to check?
1. Start the Term-VT100 app.
2. Type: df -h
3. Return
You should see listed free and used space for system and media partitions. It should be obvious which is which.
