Spotlight list too far to the right

On one of my iMacs, the Spotlight list shows up as a very thin white band on the far right. It looks as if the window has shifted almost out of view somehow. Anyone else seen/remedied this?

do you use an external/second screen with this Mac at all? I've noticed some apps doing this kinda thing on Leopard when I unplug my external display.. VLC and iTunes are major pains for this :(

I'll post a pick when my son wakes up (the iMac is in his room, it's 10:30AM here and he is a teenager :)). No external but it started doing this after we turned Spaces on.
