MacBook Ethernet Broken -Would AppleCare cover this?

The Ethernet socket on my MacBook (purchased December 2006) has stopped working.

It had never been particularly reliable, but because I use it every day I didn't want to send it off for repair.

Now it has stopped working completely. I know this is hardware issue (not related to software). I know OSX inside out.

My question is:

If I bought a MacBook AppleCare plan, would they repair this free of charge?

if it just failed by itself, then yes.

It's only left my desk on about 5 occasions, and I've never given it the slightest bump.

So, I assume that's a yes? :)

If there is no liquid or impact damage, then yes. Buy Applecare Protection Plan on Greedbay (ebay). You can find it for about $150.

They will fix it.

However seeing as it is very early December 2007 you might be within the 12 month warranty that comes as standard with the computer. So I would take it into a store as soon as possible because you may not need to get applecare, although it is a sensible purchase anyway.
