By now people know that flat panel displays come in digital (DVI) and analog (VGA).
Does anyone know what type the iMac uses? Or the PowerBooks?

While I don't know for certain, I can safely say that the picture on my iBook's screen certainly looks a lot better than my PC with its VGA-connected LCD screen. If I had to guess, I'd say that it wouldn't be DVI in the strictest sense, but it would be some sort of digital connection nonetheless. But this is just a guess :)

I think that is due to that apple's LCD is better than that on your PC. DVI and VGA don't make a very noticable difference, I would say.
