Going to college, I have to go between the school wireless networks and my own when I'm back in my room. With Tiger, it would automatically pick one or the other depending on which I was closer to, and there were no problems.

However, in Leopard, it wants to connect to the weaker school wireless network automatically rather than my own secure wireless point when I'm in my room. From what I gathered with Tiger, it would automatically connect to the network with the best signal, but again... this won't work in Leopard.

Any ideas? 😕

you could try reordering them in System preference - network - airport - advanced, so that your room network is at the top.

Solved

In the Network control panel, click the script 'sprocket' directly beneath the list of your available networks. Select "set service order". You'll get a popup that allows you to drag services to the order you wish. Good luck.
