I'm in Canada and bought/unlocked my iphone a couple of months ago. A friend of mine just called and he's just bought one. I'm out of the loop a bit on the current unlocking procedure. Is it still necessary to downgrade to the 1.0.2 firmware before using an app like iphonesimfree or is there a one-stop app that anyone would recommend to get this thing unlocked.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Is iFuntastic a good way to unlock the phone? I heard that it's great but I'm not sure what the process is. Can anyone explain?

at the moment it depends on what firmware your iPhone comes with if it is 1.1.1 then there is a proper unlock to all networks wjrereas more recent firmware there isn't an all network unlock as of yet

How do I test to see which firmware the iPhone is again before starting any kind of process to unlock it. I know there was a way to check the firmware version, but I can't remember how.
