Deleting Empty Folders

I am trying to find a way to search for and delete all of the empty folders I have on an external hard drive. I have searched the forums and haven't found anything.

Is there an easy way to search for empty folders and delete them?

I'm sure someone can make an applescript or shell script to do it, I've reported this thread to get it moved to the programming forum.
