iTunes: categorizing by sub-genres

Is there a way to effectively categorize by sub-genres?
(i.e. Electronica -> Dance
Electronica -> Downtempo
Electronica -> Trance
etc.)

I'm thinking this would help for creating smart playlists that would choose from the higher level genre of "electonica" and have random tracks from sub-genres picked, or to isolate the playlist to a specific sub-genre.

I don't think iTunes has this feature enabled/programmed. You might find a 3rd party hack to enable sub categories.

I agree, though, such a "feature" would be a benefit, even for the iPod.
