I'm upgrading the RAM on my 17" 2.16 GHz ICD MBP.
Which is the better buy?
2GB of Crucial Ram for $51.99 (http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=9F05C7B7A5CA7304)
or
2GB of OWC Ram for $49.00 (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/53DR2SPAIR2G/)

I don't see any difference other than the price so I would go with the cheaper one.

Is there really any difference between the two brands?

I've used both brands and have never had a problem with either.
If your really concerned with nickels and dimes, the OWC is cheaper but crucial has free 5-7 day shipping so it comes out about $1.40 cheaper than the OWC in the end (at least to my location).
Either would be a good choice.
Here is an even better deal with free shipping:

plus its a single stick which leaves room for more expansion later.

Ive used them both with no problem... Crucial has a bigger name I think so the few pennies more wouldn't deter me...

That's what I figured. I just ordered it.
