Dissapearing ipod

for some reason as soon as i plug in my ipod and its gets updated, the damn thing vanishes off my desktop while i try to access it or just leave it alone.

Anybody else had this problem?

i did have that problem. i took it to the apple store, and they just reformated it.

he saw a panther system folder on it, so he instantly reformatted it:p
the reformatting worked.

i couldn't reformat it at home for some odd reason, but it worked there.

I live in the UK, it will take a while but i will take it to the nearest Apple Store, thanks.

Seriously jokes aside, i fixed it, but i had to disable automatic updating in itunes...temp fix but i am reinstalling everything on this machine to downgrade it back to 10.2.6
