problem with dashboard and applications

for a while now, i can't remember whether it started before or after i installed 10.4.11, things haven't been working so great, and i'll tell you why.

dashboard, when i press f-twelve, dims my screen and only shows the + icon in the bottom left. there are absolutely no widgets.

imovie is missing themes and pages is missing fonts. dictionary won't search either. things are weird all over.

any idea what i should do?

Try pressing the + and adding Widgets for that...try repairing disk permissions in Disk Utility...

i tried the + thing already, nothing works.
