I just picked up a brand new 24" imac and a ram upgrade is in the near future. I'm going to get 4 gigs but I want to know if anyone has tried to put in 800Mhz instead of the normal 667 that it tells you to put in. If so, then how were the results?

Thanks

If it is like all other Apple computer before, the 800MHz ram would simply clock down to 667MHz. It would work but you get no speed boost.

It'll only run at 667. The front side bus is at 800, but the memory controller thingamabob is at 667 and won't go higher for your RAM.
