2142: Play online with PC's?

Because my brother has a mac, its hard for me (as a PC user) to play games with him online, except ancient titles like Diablo II and such. But when I heard 2142 was coming for macs, one of my favorite games, I was thrilled! Seems like the 1.4 patch has came out for both systems and my brother has an intel processer, but do they have separate online servers for people with the mac version? Or would both of us be able to get into any old game? Seems like a silly question, but I couldnt find anything right off of google.

There isn't really a Mac version; it's the PC version wrapped in a compatibility layer. As long as the versions are the same, then there shouldn't be any issues.
