Not Recognizing .MOV videos?

I am having problems importing a .mov file into Final Cut Pro (4), it's saying the file isn't recognized. I had this problem before and got around it somehow, but I can't remember how I did it. Any ideas?

You may have to convert it to DV first, with something like ffmpegX or QuickTime Pro.
