View Full Version : Corrupted Mii Data?

When I first started up my Wii today, it told me it was unable to open the Mii data because it was corrupted. While odd, I didn't think it was a real issue.

I started up Zelda Cross Bow Training or whatever it's called... and then it told me I couldn't load my files because the Mii data was corrupted. It told me to go to the Mii channel. I went over there and it told me the data was all corrupted and offered the option to reformat the memory on the Wii.

But... that would mean I'd loose everything. I'd have to set up all my friend codes again... I'd have to restart all my games... etc.

So I chose not to reformat the memory.

But I still can't play most of my games because most of them require Mii's for the load game icon if nothing else.

Googling the error message it gave, I found that Nintendo will offer to repair it under warranty... but I'm no longer covered by that. So what does anyone think I should do?

have you contacted nintendo to see if they will fix it because companies will sometimes repair products that are out of warranty.

Also if they repair it there is a good chance that you will lose your save data anyway.

Do you have a SD card to back up your important data?

How did it become corrupted? What did you do?

Was it just Mii data or all save data on your system? Hmm...I think it's time to back up all of my data to an SD card (just in case). Does anyone know if you can save Mii's to SD cards in adition to downloaded games and save data?

Mii's can be saved on a Wii remote...10 per remote. The Wii remote has some onboard memory.

But not onto an SD card?
