Printer sharing

So I have my mom's windows desktop set up to share the printer and it is working with my iMac that is down in my bedroom. The windows computer is showing up under shared in my finder and I have succesfully printed to it. My problem is that nothing is showing up on my MBP which I want to set up for printer sharing also. As far as I know my settings are all the same on both macs.
 
How is your network set up? Is it a mix of wired and wireless? Are all the Macs running the same operating system?
 
both macs are running leopard. and the windows desktop is wired, and the macs are wireless.
