Just wondering about the stats

I own just a 360.

EDIT: If you own an old console and a new one/s just tick the option for the new one/s that you own.

A poll where you could pick multiple answers and just have the 3 choice and none would have been better, imho.

PS2 with Crystal Chip Pro SLE, Xbox with Xecuter 3 and Xecuter Control Panel 250GB HD, Xbox 360. Out of all of them I like the Xbox the best because it is my network media player, and the PS2 for games. Very few of the next gen games are truly great.

No, that would get the number of people messed up. That type of poll would show what I already know which is sales figures. This shows how many poeple own more than one so we can weed out all teh rich folk! :D

As a family, all three in the order they came out, but since I've had the PS3, I haven't touched the 360 once. PS3 + Wii is the best combo for me.

I will never own a single console as long as there are exclusives I want.... oh and I have a job to pay for them :)

Well, technically I only own a PS3. The Wii is the family console in the living room, the 360 is my bros and the PS3 was a gift.

But I picked Wii because it's the only console I play these days.

No handhelds in the poll?

No handhelds in the poll?

They're not really consoles and that would make the poll quite lengthy.

Just the Wii. While I would like to have all three, I don't have the time to play them and can't justify the cost, so I just bought my favorite.

One disappointing thing I've noticed, though, is that almost all of my favorite games are from Nintendo (Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers Charged, Metroid Prime 3, Excite Truck, Wii Sports). I'm still waiting for the mass onslaught of 3rd party games. Though I have to say, I really enjoy/ed Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, and I'm really looking forward to BWii, Medal of Honor 2 (except it doesn't have multiplayer in the same house!!!! WTF!), and Guitar Hero 3. I promised people I wouldn't buy them so they had more Xmas options. Sigh . . . .

Wii!

We're talking about the current generation, of course. I have tons if we count the classics.

I'm debating which of the other two I'll get next year. The XBox 360 has more games I'm interested in CURRENTLY, but not by that much. PS3's hardware seems so much better and it's actually cheaper since I have to have WiFi (XBox 360 + 1 year of Live + WiFi = $500). And I've historically preferred Sony's exclusives to Microsoft's. I don't play console FPS.

I've historically preferred Sony's exclusives; but they haven't released any of the ones I like yet :) I see no Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus, Ape Escape, etc style games...Gran Turismo and Ratchet and Clank and Warhawk look good though.

I'm leaning towards a PS3 but if I bought one today I'd run out of games to play on it pretty quick just because I'm picky. I dunno. I think I'll end up with a PS3 if Sony continues to picks up the slack like they have been recently :) But if I bought today I'd find more games of interest on the 360.

I own a 360 and my girlfriend owns a Wii, even though I play both. My time is probably spend 90-10 toward the 360. Since most of my gaming time is alone and I like FPS, I end up on the 360 so I can play online with friends. It's so hard for me to go from the 360 where everything looks and sounds great to the Wii where it looks like crap on my HDTV with only stereo. I do enjoy Mario Galaxy, but sad to say, the graphics always pull me out from the game. And, I know I am not the norm, but I really can't get into the Wii controller. I know I would personally love Mario Galaxy so much more if I had a regular controller with joysticks instead having to move my hand all around to get the stars and attack enemies. Not that the 360 is perfect, I just got mine back a couple weeks ago from being repaired.

My friend just got a PS3 a week ago, it is really starting to come around since launch. Lots of good games coming out for it now and the system is really starting to show its potential. If I had to choose between the 360 and the PS3 now, I would probably go with the PS3 just because it is a much better value.

I know what you mean. As much as a love the wii controller, sometimes it would be nice to kick back and just use a regular (even classic) controller. I especially feel this way when playing any pointing/shooting game as our tv is just too far away from the couch for the sensor bar to work reliably.

Yeah I agree with this. My favorite wii games are the ones which just use the wii remote on its own. I don't like having the nunchuck. 1 year of use and it still doesnt feel natural to me, and often the cable gets tangled to make matters worse.

I've got a PS3 and DS. Used to have a PSP but the PS3 replaced it.

I agree about the Wii controller. I think it's a good idea in theory, but when I get home from work and am tired, the last thing I want to do is be waving my arms around. I'd prefer to just twiddle my thumbs a bit. This is one of 2 issues the caused me to buy a PS3 over the Wii. (Game regions being the other.) It would be great if in the settings of the game you could choose what controller to use, the Wiimote or the classic.

It seems the ideal solution for Wii would be to allow the classic controller to be used as an option, as well as the remote/nunchuk. I'm not a programmer though, so it might be a lot harder than it sounds to support two control styles.

I really don't enjoy a console unless it can be modded. Then I max out its capabilities (like my xbox, its a network media hub, has about 50 games on the harddrive, and acts as a TV internet station, and has some Tivo-like capabilities) The fun is making it better that how I bought it, unfortunately the latest console mods are boring dvd security work-arounds that really only allow piracy. Im not into piracy, just legal backups and a sweet media hub.

I'm not a programmer either, but I would think it would be possible. The PS3 has games that let you chose the 'classic' controls or the Sixaxis controls. I know not quite the same but close enough (unless someone proves me wrong).

If the Wii had a choice of controls, it would have been a lot harder decision. (of course I could have boughten 2 Wiis--a Japanese region and an American region-- for a little more than the price I paid for my PS3. :o

Oh, I remember now - I'll have to check for the link. I think there was a PC company what was to put out a "PC" that looked like the Nintendo Revolution (at the time) that was to just be Direct X/Windows XP Lite and play PC games...

A small PC shop round here have set up something like that. It's a mini PC similar spec to last years iMac. Anyroad they built a nifty interface so it could be used by a regular PC controller. Like a Mac Mini being used as a media centre but for games.

No wonder the "phantom" didn't take off.

I did find a PC that looks like the Wii - but it's a full blown PC. Amazing how companies copy off eachother.

I guess the "PC console" thing can never take off - you might as well make it full-blown PC.

Interesting how these "Shuttle PC's" are a lot more money than an Mini...

It was always going to fail. The whole point about PC games is they're not limited to one piece of hardware. Games for consoles are limited and so they can spend more time eeking out every last bit of power they can whereas PC games can be more sloppy, letting new hardware do the rest. A one year old console is generally still current. A one year old PC graphics card is generally old news.

- Xbox (rarely used now)
- Atari Jaguar (yes, I was one of the ... err ... 7 people who actually bought one)

The Jag still sees quite frequent use. Nothing better than a blast of Tempest 2000 (although I'm also addicted to Space Giraffe on the 360, sort of a spiritual decendent of T2K).

The achievement system is just a new form of post whoring, now in gaming. It's not even consistent, as some games will have a nice glitch for you to jack up your points. I'd say it's a pretty damn good marketing strategy though as plenty of people get addicted to "working their ass off" for achievements. ;)

I think I'm more impressed that you managed to hook them all up, the back of your TV must be a mess!

My most used are the PS2 and my Nintendo DS, but I also have a Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 64. I went on a PC gaming spree for a while, but not so much anymore. Age of Empires III is the only PC game I really ever play anymore.

I likely won't dabble in next-gen systems for a while yet. Still too expensive while my PS2 is still useful.

LOL!! I know what you mean, maybe the OP should have written 'What current generation console/s do you own? ' in the title of this thread.

Just because it was blatantly obvious what he meant, some posters just can't resist showing off.......

If we were to list every system we have ever owned I know myself; that mine would be lengthy being the spoilt little mommy & daddies boy that I was.. :D

They haven't replaced the ngage with a specific phone, basically all N70 upwards models will be able to play games launched from their new NGAGE game service which launches early next year...

But I'm hoping by then I will have got shot of my N95 and treated myself to an iPhone :D

I have a slim PS2 which I connected to a 7 yr old Sony TV.

Would get a PS3-but only if I got a new high def TV.
