so i was thinking of getting a touch, but i had some questions.....when it is powered by either dock or lighter adapter does the screen lock and if so how long does it take? can you shut the lock feature off? also, does the touch work with gloves?

It doesn't normally work with gloves, but I suppose it might with like, latex gloves or something.

You can turn the screen auto-lock to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 minutes or "never".

It doesn't lock while charging, all that happens is that the home screen wallpaper changes to a battery charging. The Touch requires something that holds an electrical charge to move, but if you try enough times you can get it to work through gloves, especially if they are thin. Best bet, though, just take one off. ;)

So, if you have the Touch/iPhone connected to a power source in the dock connector say in your car, then it will not lock. That way you can skip tracks or select new items to play without unlocking it time and time again. Right? If so, that's cool.

when it is in charge mode you can also double click the home button to bring up the music controls

Yes, when it is charging you can do everything that a normal iPod does. There is an option on the iPod to make it so your iPod never turns off automatically, just put that on and you can let your iPod shuffle while charging for hours and hours.
