View Full Version : Help! What to get my 14-year-old Bro for Christmas??

Hi guys,

I'm really stumped on this one. Done all the Christmas shopping, just my little brother (recently Mac-converted) is impossible to buy for. If I had the money, I'd buy him an iPod Touch or something similar. But my budget is around €30 (£20, $40-ish).

It's a really hard age to buy for, is 14...

Thanks for any suggestions :D

What does he have already? Then you can look for an accessory to an item which he owns.

(£20, $40-ish).

Don't scare me like that with your false conversion rate to the dollar. It'd be more like a little less than $30 ;)

But for a 14-year old boy who recently switched to the Mac - how about a nicer mouse? Or buy a license to a cool app or screensaver. Or a video game if he has a console.

Or how about a coupon for 5 free hugs :D

1 British pound = 2.0172 U.S. dollars

So £20 = $40.34

I got my 14 y/o brother (recent mac convert) an OS X release T-shirt which I got off the forum. Just don't tell him..

how about this (http://www.buy.com/prod/logitech-vx-revolution-cordless-laser-mouse-for-notebooks/q/loc/101/202985154.html)? on-sale, nice mouse, I think he'd like it. I've tried this mouse before and it is really comfortable.

Thanks guys - that's very helpful :)

Got his pressie sorted. Won't tell you what it was, incase he's watching. But I will say it wasn't the Playboy or Mac Pro :p Sorry(!)

Merry Christmas to all!

but add in the fact things cost more in the UK than in the US $30 might be a better number.

Don't I know it

We get to pay something like £150 extra for a MBP!

iTunes gift cards??? I'm 23 and that's what I get my siblings/cousins/etc. They always seem to really enjoy that.

Eh, don't know.

Best gift for a teenage boy (aside from beer and porn, previously mentioned): getting his parents out of town for a weekend so he can throw a party. Not much to open on Christmas morning, but he'll certainly thank you after the party.

P.S. Are the iPod socks still sold?

I've always recommended if you dont know what to get someone, get em a gift card to their favorite store.

Strangely so! Apple has just released a 'Tour of' (http://www.crazyapplerumors.com/?p=972) video for them actually!
