just wondering how to find out the speed of my hard drive on my new imac or macbook, and also what are the hard drive speeds for the new ipod classic 80gb?

When you say speed, do you mean actual rotations per minute or what?

To find the speed of a drive in your system. Go into system profiler then find the drive (normally under Serial-ATA) then find the drive model number. Look this number up and it will tell you the RPM. As for the ipod its a 4200 RPM ATA-66.
