View Full Version : Goodbye iMac I will miss you...kinda...

So i've chosen to sell off my old(ish) 17" iMac Intel Core Duo 1.83.
It can't keep up to the workload i put on it (FCP, CS3, all that fun stuff).

So I'm going to buy a new MacPro (whenever the choose to come out).

The catch is...I dont have any other mac computers once I sell my iMac, so I will be using one of my dad's PC desktops (a good PC but still a PC).

It's kinda sad, but in the end it will be worth the "sacrifice"
Wish me luck with the POS they call Windows!

If a new MacPro doesn't come out at MWSF 2008, I will most likely either buy an existing MacPro, or make myself a hack-intosh

The Mac Pro won't really affect the value of your iMac, so why not hang on to it until the mac pro is released?

I have someone that wants to buy my iMac in the next couple of days, otherwise, I have had noone interested in the iMac.

My fiancé's father put it for sale in his store and noone was interested.

It's not too big of a deal, I only do webdesign on CS3 right now mostly anyways. I just wont get to do my FCP and DVD's for a little while

I sold mine last week. 1.83 core duo... I'm a little sad. I bought a 2.2 SR Macbook now. I'll get a new iMac next year I think... ooooh hmm a hackintosh eh? that DOES sound enticing... though I love the form factor of the imac I hate the weak sauce video card. At least for games it's weak sauce.

Now I do not have any Macs to use. It kinda sucks.

Im using my dad's laptop right now.
It suddenly feels like there is nothing to do in my room...even though I have a Nintendo Wii and a Nintendo DS...

Time to countdown to the new MacPros (hopefully)

I'd say. If I didn't have a Mac I'd probably just rather not use a computer much anymore.
