I just bought a new-to-me (used) MBP, and I would like to do a reformat/fresh install such that it's like I just opened the box of a brand-new computer.
How can I do that? I'll also be installing 10.5 (The computer comes with 10.4.9). Is there a way to do it with the Leapord Install?
Basically, I'm excited but scared I'll screw something up, so I thought I'd ask first.
Thanks,
Alex

Boot from the DVD. Run Disk Utility, Format the drive. Install Leopard. Boom.
EDIT: boot from dvd (restart computer hold down 'c')

Put in the Leopard disk, choose to restart, and then follow the steps. In one of the first steps, there will be a button ('options' or 'customize') where you can choose 'Erase & Install' :)
Its the same with a Tiger disk, but you may as well do it with the Leopard disk...
