I have an eMac 800mhz and I'm having trouble discerning whether it's an "early" build which needs the original AP card or a later build. What exactly am I looking for in the system profiler to tip me off? Thanks

Andy

Depends on the model. Find it here to see which card.

According to Low End Mac, there were 2 versions of the 800 MHz (2002 and 2003). The latter took the Airport Extreme and the former the old Airport card.

Ah ha, thanks for the link. Looks like bus speed differentiates the 800mhz varieties. 100mhz = regular AP card. 133mhz = APX.

Glad to see I've got 133mhz bus. Thanks much!

Right, that's what I was trying to determine -- as I wasn't finding the year anywhere in my system profiler :)
