Hey Folks!
I titled this thread, in part, "shameless plug" because the real purpose was to let you know about a commercial product, and my own personal ethics kind of prevent me from trying to disguise this as simply a "Wow! This is cool! Have you heard..." kind of thread.
As many of you may remember, in the 1980s there was a U.S. tv show called "Airwolf" which starred Jan Michael Vincent, Ernest Borgnine, Alex Cord and Jean Bruce Scott. This has since become a "cult classic" tv show, and amongst other things has spawned an international fan club, etc., etc. Anyhow, one of Airwolf's biggest fans is an Irishman named Mark Cairns. Mark, who is amongst other things a Mac-using desktop publisher and musician (hey, I'm telling you this guy is quality! :p ) in 1999 released, in cooperation with original series music creator Sylvester LeVay, a 2 CD collection called "Airwolf Themes". The original release was limited to 500 copies, and as many of those copies have been re-sold over the years, a number of them have gone for considerably more than was originally paid. In a few cases, their resale prices have been astronomically high. For proof of this, just go to eBay and search for sales history on the Airwolf Themes set, and you'll see what I mean.
Anyhow, as interest in the show and interest in Mark's work has continued, Mr. Cairns has been in the process of re-releasing the music from AWT. It also happens that he is working with Polish fellow Airwolf fan and musician on another collection, AWT II. However, that project is still in development and various stages of production, and what we're concerned here with is the original music.
After Mark finally decided to go ahead and re-release the music, he also decided to do a bit of tech clean-up and remastering, resulting in an even better release of AWT I. For those of us who are regular posters over at AirwolfThemes.com, and certainly for others around the world this has been a long time in coming. However, the wait is now over. The music has been released (at present) via Pinnacle Digital UK, and will soon be available via iTunes as well. Pinnacle Digital UK has released them as both 128 bit AACs and 192 bit MP3s, both without DRM, and fully unrestricted and unencumbered.
Speaking as a fan, if you're a fan of this show, you really should at least listen to the samples available. Mark and Sylvester are awesome talents, and something like this is worthy of your time and, quite possibly, your money as well.
And yes, I have bought the album (didn't know this existed back in 1999, so I don't have the CDs -- darn!) and this is one heck of a kicking re-production of the original show's series and episodic themes and incidentals.

Enjoy!
