Hi.
I recently purchased GHIII and have been thoroughly enjoying it.
Only one thing though, it is somewhat annoying that I must insert the disc every time I want to play.

Is there any way I could halt this?
As in, create a dic image I could mount with Toast, or altogether stop it from asking to insert the disc?

Thanks in advance

You can save a disc image of the disc using Toast. Then when you want to play, right click on it and choose Mount It.

Can you explain the process?

Open Toast while the disc is inserted. Go to Disc Copy under Copy in Toast. Go up to the File menu and select Save As Disc Image. Save it somewhere. Then when you right click on it, you can choose Mount It to mount it using Toast. It is under More in Leopard.

I think Disk Utility will save it as a disk image, protected or not.

Yeah, try using Disk Utility.

Open Disk Utility while the DVD is in your drive.
Select the game disc from the left side.
Click New Image.

Neither Toast nor Disk Utility will work on most copy-protected games made within the last few years, though Toast is a little more effective. If it doesn't work with Toast, there is no chance that Disk Utility will be any use. (Both will make an image just fine, but the game won't recognize it.)

I'm curious as to how this actually works. When you insert an original DVD, Finder shows a "DVD" icon. When you insert a copied DVD, you get a "DVD-R" icon. How does it tell?
