Is there any way that you can remove the arrows on an alias?

I heard that TinkerTool (http://versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11967) can do this. And it's free! I haven't tried it myself. If you try it, please post and tell us if it did what you wanted.

dont use alias's - just option-click the program icon and move it to where you want it. it will move the add a normal icon image wherever you want and it will open perfect.

if you are moving something to the dock then just drag the icon. it will remain in the applications folder and create a spitting image in the dock without having to create an alias.
