Mini DVI->Adapter to VGA->Adapter to Component Video?

Is it possible to attach a "VGA to component video cable" to a "Mini DVI to VGA" adapter?
 
So if I wished to connect my iMac to my plasma via the way I have listed above, there would be no compatibility issues?
