I have a 17 inch pbook with a gig of ram, and my girlfriend liked it so much she went out and got a 12 inch Pbook 867 with 256 ram....

the thing is the 12 inch is painfully slow, seems to lag and hang all the time, on the simplest tasks....I had an 800 meg ibook before the Pbook with 640 ram, and I don't remember waiting for nearly as much of the time she does.....

Is this all just a ram shortage problem? if I up it to the 640 will it make all the difference?

thats what I thought

thats what I figured, the ibook although a little sluggish it didnt have the lagginess the 12 inch has...

I imagine anytime it has to read/write to/from disk instead of just sending stuff to ram, it will seem sluggish....4200 rpm's is a little slow by anyones standards.
