iPod touch Random Question

I got my girlfriend an iPod touch for Christmas and we are trying to figure out how to just get her wallpaper to come up and not just the home screen. We know where to select it but how do you view it???

Im guessing you mean for the wallpaper to show up on the home screen where the icons are located.

Unfortunately you cannot accomplish this right out of the box.
You must jailbreak the iPod first, install Summerboard, then choose your preferred background.

hmmmm.... interesting, then, if you don't mind me asking, what is the point of the wallpaper on an ipod touch?
 
The point of the wallpaper is to have it on the Unlock screen.
Press the top bottom on the touch twice, and it should appear.

Seems pointless, hence the idea of Summerboard.
