I use Black and White pomade, it's the best out there that I'm aware of. As far as I'm concerned gel sucks, I like to be able to fix my hair if it gets messed up... gel provides almost zero flexibility. What do you prefer? Gel or pomade?

OK, I never thought I would give my secret away, but in the spirit of Christmas:

I style my hair with 100% natural aloe vera gel

It's fantastic! What's so cool is that it styles just like gel but is much, much lighter, and it washes out super easily. It has no horrible smell, etc.

For shampoo, I use Pantene something. I don't shampoo every day, and I'm not a firm believer in paying a lot for shampoo. I don't buy into these ideas that shampoos can perform all these miracles--they're only touching your hair (which is dead) for about 30 seconds.

I wet mine, let it air dry and then hit it with a little Frizz Ease Dream Curls (http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/products.asp?pid=60&section=products&subSection=frizzEase&lineID=4) to hold down the frizz, cause the chicks can't keep their hands out of my 'fro ;)

I use this in my hair to style it, but I find it to be a little more thick than I like and the girl who does my hair adds some stuff to it that to make it more flexible...Anyone have any recommendations of what to use to soften shaping creme

Brylcreem leaves hair really soft and manageable. That stuff is wonderful. Black and white leaves hair pretty soft also, but not quite as manageable, but it holds a little tighter than Brylcreem does. Murray's Superior is a really versatile pomade thats cheap and great for about anything.

I use a special gel made by Schwarzkopf...a little tiny bit keeps my horribly resilient hair up all day and it smells great.

I use a sea salt spray (from this range (http://www.toniandguy.be/EN/products_labelm.asp)) before blow-drying my hair and then some "matte paste" (same range again) and hair spray to keep it in shape all day long.

I'm a woman but...
when my hair was short I used to use the black and white wax/pomade stuff. It's great to keep it how you want it.

But, now my hair is longer I just use the good old shampoo and blow dryer (and maybe some straighteners if I'm going out) and that suits me well.

I used to put gel on it, now I just straighten it to get it layered looking and add a few whisps here and there. My hair is too naturally straight :o

I use Paul Mitchell "Dry Wax". I have blonde hair and any type of gel makes it look wet/sticky. The wax gives it some texture and a nice messy look. I go for the straight out of bed look.

I've also tried Sebastien's Crude Clay, which is similar to above.

I use some sort of L'oreal pomade crap. I like it because my hair isnt painfully stiff afterwards.

I've used bedhead and such in the past, but the L'Oreal crap is great. It's not the out of bed, its the one in the smaller container. It is amazing how a little lasts all day.

I imagine that it soothes your scalp as well whe the shower water was a little too hot.

Shower, shampoo, conditioner, rinse, dry, comb/brush straight back.

On rare occasions i'll use mousse if I want my hair to stay where I put it, usually when I know i'm going to have my photo taken.

In High School I just used the cheapest tub'o gel I could find.

In Elementary School I used AquaNet hairspray, but that was the 80's afterall.

2 times a year i'll just get a buzzcut to avoid having to deal with my hair. I especially hate it when my ear starts getting into my ears when wearing headphones.

I used to like the greasy look of pomade in my late teens but now I wear hats too often, which get all gunky with pomade, as do pillows, etc.

I don't always use products as my hair sometimes manages to settle into an acceptable style by itself... especially, as it happens, if I don't blow dry it. Sometimes I don't have time though, so I use:

TIGI Bed Head Hard To Get:

Sephora self-branded styling wax (which you can only seem to find in Europe/Asia):

And when I need really strong hold, I use Schwarzkopf's Got2B Spiked Up something something (I can't seem to find a picture of it, and the bottle is in Chinese, so I'm honestly not sure specifically what it is. It's like a gooey paste that solidifies when you roll it in your palms. Anyways, i don't spike my hair! I use it very sparingly.)

I'm sort of beyond all that stuff now. I use Grecian Formula. Those gray hairs suck.

I'm not sure what's worse, a bald head or gray hair.

Nowadays I will usually just put a beanie on after I get out of the shower and after a few hours my hair is perfectly straight, flat, and "done". I have thick hair so its necessary.
I used to do pomade/gel everyday, now just a couple times a week.

Pomade: Paul Mitchell Tea Tree
Gel/glue: BedHead

Currently - I use this to maintain my shine.

I currently use gel. But i hate how it gets stiffafter drying. I want something that doesnt get stiff, yet doesnt let my hair get all frizzy and big. I also like the slight "out of the shower" shine my hair has with the gel. :)

Im open for any suggestions ;)
