View Full Version : Gmail Account doesn't work!

I have an Iphone v 1.1.1 , and i would like to set up my gmail account into it.
that's why i have followed all the google instructions BUT at this end nothing happened because my iphone said: "the connection to the outgoing server " smtp.gmail.com failed"
Anybody can help me???

yes i did many times actually..
I' was trying on Imap but then as soon as i filled it up and clicked on save i got this message following: "cannot connect using SSL"
what does it mean?

Go to your Gmail in Settings and click IMAP enabled...

I already did too, step by step but nothing has happened
i'm still stucked
by the way i have exactly the same message when i try to set up yahoo account maybe it's because of my iphone version ( v.1.1.1) ? what do you thing?

Did you just get the phone? I had the exact same problem and it resolved itself in a couple days after activation.

Correct. Give it a few days, restart your phone and computer, and try it again

Mine did not work at first but eventually did after a 2nd try

If you have IMAP working with Mail.app on your computer (if you use OS X), just sync the phone with the replace settings on iphone checked under mail
