Is there a way to set up a calendar in iCal with all your friends/families birthdays and then just move the whole calendar from year to year (not having to type in the bd's every year) ?
I am always having problems remembering birthdays and I am new to iCal... that would be a great help.
cheers

Apple hasn't put this functionality into iCal yet by any chance ?

when you enter an appointment/birthday/etc., there's an option for a repeat occurrence. Just choose "yearly". Voila.

This works in league with the address book. First, enter your contacts birthday's in address book. Then in iCal, select Preferences. In the General pane, select the "Show Birthdays Calendar".
From then on it is automatic, they appear every year. New contacts also appear as they are added.

To do this you need to enter the people into AddressBook. Then there is an option either in AddressBook or iCal to display birthdays.
