I don't know how to get it back? please help.

Also, I just installed Leopard and I cannot open Macintosh HD or the finder.

Drag your downloads folder to the right hand size of the dock

Try restarting to use Finder, if not, open Disk Utility, and choose your HD and repair permissions

Drag it from the Finder, just Spotlight it, but FYI its under your Home folder 🙂
