$350 to burn...what would you do?

Here's what I'm looking at for my options....

1) Macromedia Studio MX 2004 and PhotoShop CS for $358

2) Creative Suite Premium (with GoLive) for $340

3) Dreamweaver 2004 and PhotoShop CS for $308


Before you mention it, I'd prefer not to dl them all so given these three options or a similar fourth of your choosing, what would you choose?

There's no way Studio MX and Photoshop are only $358.

That said, iPod plus tax.

$104 for Studio MX 2004 at my university

$254 for Photoshop CS

I'm kinda leaning towards option 2, Adobe CS Premium -- how is GoLive, is it any good?


Btw-- I already have a 15 GB ipod, see my sig?

That's a hell of an education discount.

How about then buying an iPod and sending it to me for giving you such good advice? :D

Seriously though, I'd get more use out of that Studio MX and Photoshop, but getting all of CS can't be a bad thing, and I don't know what you'd use it all for.

I would choose # 2, but I really want InDesign. I already have Photoshop, Illustrator, and GoLive current versions.

If you don't do print work, I'm not sure you want to go that way.

I think as many people swear by GoLive as swear at it. I've had fairly good luck with it, and have tried DreamWeaver but not day-in-day-out. GoLive is good because of its integration. The SmartObjects are great for synchronising standard Photoshop and Illustrator (among others) objects with the type they need to be for the web page.

GoLive is okay for simple stuff, but I like DreamWeaver better. Depends on what you're doing. If you need Flash and don't need Illustrator or InDesign, there's you answer. But I would recommend you buy the CS Suite now for everything you get, see if you like GoLive, and get DW or later if you don't. Or Studio MX if you also want Flash.

Those are pretty good prices though, even for edu discounts.

transfering is mindless between adobe products so if you are not a hungry user that go all adobe. I would have to say in my opinion that macromedia is better for what you are looking for but if quickness and simplicity of use is your steeze than go all adobe.
