EFI not finding my bootcamp partition?

Hi,

recently I installed Windows XP using bootcamp, which worked fine. I could select either OS X or XP when holding down the option key.

Now, however, the partition does not appear - only my OS X partition does. However, the startup disk control panel finds it and I can see it on my OS X desktop.


Is there a way to fix this, as it's greatly annoying.

you formatted in ntfs instead of fat32 format. There is a program around that makes you see the ntfs partition under mac osx. google it and you will find it.
 
Actually it's formatted in FAT32. As I said, OSX can find the partition fine and I can happily boot into windows if i tell it to in the startup disk control panel, but it will not show up in the EFI list when i hold option down and boot.

The reason I formatted in FAT32 was to get around having to use ntfs-3g to be able to write, it was a real pain trying to use it in Linux on my PC.
 
FYI I have the EXACT same problem, and I also have a WindowsXP FAT32 partition.

My only way to boot into Windows is to set it as the default startup disk.
