How to get date and time synchronized with the internet?

How to get date and time synchronized with the internet? I checked the box in set date & time automatically, but it does not seems to do its job.
 
Which time server are you using? First check that you can resolve it by pinging the name in Terminal. Look for an IP address returned.
You can use any available time server and these are listed at: ntp.org
