I have both computers with Leopard. When I tried to transfer the data from the old PowerBook G4 to the new Imac, on step 2 of the process I get "waiting for disks to appear" There are no disks on the display and the continue prompt is shaded. I tried the "go back" and then I get "there are no version of Mac OSX available on your old mac. Well, both Macs are on Leopard. I tried to reset both machines and changed the FireWire port with no avail. Any idea what to do? Thanks

Assuming it's a bad Firewire port, can you network them normally via ethernet? Have you tried a different Firewire cable? 🙂

I used the FireWire about a month ago without any problem to transfer all the data from the PowerBook G4 (same one) to a MacBook without any problem. All the data transfered without a glitch.
