I'm far from being a mindless fanboy, but I have to say that Steve Jobs is brilliant in business and designing gadgetry.

Ive and his team do most of that, but as we've heard from the iPod and G4 iMac stories, Steve does make his contribution. He's nothing if not a hands on CEO.

Two unsurprising things about this story:

1. Steve Jobs trounced other candidates in an online votable poll. Whenever I see an Apple-related item on a major mainstream news site it, mysteriously, wins in a landslide. I can only speculate as to the reasons why, but I wish these mainstream agencies would kinda get the picture after awhile.

2. Rob Enderle. While I'm surprised he's still able to get his name injected into Apple-related stories on mainstream news sites, I don't find the obtuse nature of his statement to be surprising. What does this even mean:

“Because it's all brand new, chances are it's not going to be particularly reliable so all of that wrapped up into a package makes what's a very pretty phone -- makes you probably want to wait for generation two,” said Rob Enderle of Enderle Group.

 If it were anyone else, I'd suspect something was lost in translation, but with Enderle this is about par for the course.

I just hope he doesn't pass it off to others like at WWDC...
