I've just installed Leopard 10.5.1 and it seems a bit slow. e.g. Help is REALLY slow. Any advice on how best to upgrade? More memory? If so, what's best? ... and where to buy? Here's my System Profiler detail:

Model Name: PowerBook G4 15"
Model Identifier: PowerBook5,6
Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.2)
Processor Speed: 1.67 GHz
Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 167 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.9.1f1

Advice welcome.

Yeah, it'd go much better with an extra gigabyte or so of RAM.

I think you really need more memory. My powerbook 133hz runs fine with 1.25 gig...

I need help too. I bought a used powerbook g4 on ebay. It's a 1.5GHz, 512MB RAM, 12" with the latest version of leopard (10.5.2).

This thing simply crawls. There's no other way of explaining it. The fan is always on. when I load a DVD disk, the spinning thing keeps spinning n doesn't stop.

Is it just the RAM? BTW, I have a 1GB stick on the way and should have it tomorrow or Saturday.

Any clues? I even monitored the temperatures and nothing is near the upper spec limit on the temps.

HELP!:(

More RAM will help immensely. I'm running 1.5GB on my PB and Leopard works great.
