10.3 Panther on G3's?

Can anyone testing/running Panther tell me how it will run on one of my old Mac's - an iBookSE 366Mhz G3 with 320Mb RAM.

At the moment it's running 10.2.3 and is running OK, but if Panther delivers (as some are reporting) overall speed increases akin to the step from 10.1 to 10.2 then I would be tempted to install it on the little fella.

Apart from being concerned about running 10.3 on such a low clock speed G3, my only other concern is the amt of RAM. I know I can put a 512Mb chip in instead of the 256 chip in it, but that means throwing money at a Mac I don't use much.

Thanks for any 10.3 on G3 insight.

From what I've heard, the speed increases are noticeable even in the G3 based computers. I'm hoping my 467 iBook SE feels the change too.

From what I have read, changes are most noticeable on older machines. That doesn't mean your machine will be fast, just that it will jump more in speed (say from a level 2 to a level 4) than a Dual 1.25 Power Mac (say a 8 to a 9).

I'm running an early Panther build (7B21) on an iBook 800 (yes it's faster, but still a G3). Even in this early stage of development Panther is noticeably faster on my G3. It is meant to have got faster in higher builds so I would expect to see a good increase in general responsiveness on older iBooks.
