Windows Media Player won't launch

I'm using a G4 Powerbook, OS X Jaguar, all the latest updates, Downloaded and installed the latest version of Windows Media Player. When I go to sites that require it, it WON'T launch, I get the little "puzzle piece" icon, and it tells me it, "Plug-in not found".. or something like that,,, EVEN when I input the URL manualy,, NADA... Anyone have any ideas?... Thanks,,,,
